0:00:11.7 Mike Vacanti: Hello, Jordan.
0:00:12.4 Jordan Syatt: Michael, this is the last chance that people have to join the Online Fitness Business Mentorship at this price, it will never, ever be this low again. And this is your last chance to apply.
0:00:25.0 Mike Vacanti: Yes.
0:00:25.4 Jordan Syatt: Okay. The last chance to apply at this price. If you wanna join, if you wanna grow your online fitness business, if you want to be part of an incredible community of coaches who want to be better coaches, help their clients better grow their businesses, this is your last chance. Don’t say we didn’t tell you so, don’t ask for an extension. It’s been going for, like, a month. This is your last chance. You can apply at the link in the show notes. That’s it. But it’s like, if you wanna grow, this is your last chance.
0:00:53.3 Mike Vacanti: Very well said. Very well said. And like you said, it’s been going on for a month. You’ve definitely heard this announcement before. Apply now or forever hold your peace.
0:01:03.1 Jordan Syatt: Forever hold your peace.
0:01:03.9 Mike Vacanti: Wow. Dialed.
0:01:05.1 Jordan Syatt: Not planned.
0:01:08.9 Mike Vacanti: We’re dialed. Today, well, do we have anything? What are we talking about?
0:01:14.1 Jordan Syatt: There’s a stray dog, like, right behind me, like, a foot and a half behind me, there’s a stray dog that is just posted up at our house.
0:01:20.9 Mike Vacanti: Like, in your office or?
0:01:23.9 Jordan Syatt: Directly outside of my office, like, right outside that window. Like, the curtains. He’s just sitting there, and I’m, like, just anticipating my wife being like, can we just take him in? Can he just be…
0:01:36.1 Mike Vacanti: Does he have a collar?
0:01:37.8 Jordan Syatt: No. And he’s super shaggy and dirty. Like, clearly he hasn’t been taken care of.
0:01:45.0 Mike Vacanti: Oh, man.
0:01:45.1 Jordan Syatt: So I went, I tried to go up to him. My wife gave him some food and water, and now he’s been like, you know, he’s just sitting there because he got food and water. So I tried to go up to him, but he started to, like, shy away and run away. And I was like, I got to get on a podcast, so the girls are just looking at him through the window just like… My oldest was like, “Can we play dog chase us?” [laughter] I was like, “That’s a new game.” And so I’m gonna see if, like, if we can take him to the vet, see if he has a microchip or not. But I’m just… My wife is due in, like, two weeks, and I’m like, “You’re gonna wanna take this dog in, aren’t you?” So, yeah.
0:02:24.9 Mike Vacanti: Where were stress levels one to 10 prior to this dog, and where are they right now?
0:02:30.9 Jordan Syatt: The dog really doesn’t increase the stress, to be honest. It’s like…
0:02:33.2 Mike Vacanti: Taking in another pet, doesn’t increase?
0:02:36.4 Jordan Syatt: It really doesn’t really increase my stress very much, no.
0:02:38.2 Mike Vacanti: That’s crazy. You’re on a different level. There’s just so much stress that it’s a drop in the bucket, I think.
0:02:43.4 Jordan Syatt: Yeah, that’s just nothing realistically. Yeah, there’s that. I was leaving the house the other day and I noticed my oldest, she had her face pressed up against the wall. I was about to walk out the door, I was going on a quick like 12 hour trip, and she had her face like pressed up against the wall. And I’ve never seen her do that before. I was like, “What are you doing?” And she turns around and she looks at me in a way that is like, what a stupid question. [laughter] Like, why would you ask me that? And she just says… Very matter of fact, she goes, “I’m wiping my boogers on the wall.” And I was like…
0:03:19.8 Mike Vacanti: I love that.
0:03:19.9 Jordan Syatt: “Oh, great. Okay.” And then I was like, and I told my wife, I was like, “All right, I got to go, see ya. Just so you know, she said this, though. Bye.” [laughter] So now I got to like…
0:03:27.7 Mike Vacanti: There’s boogers on the wall.
0:03:28.3 Jordan Syatt: There’s boogers on the wall. Exactly. Yeah.
0:03:31.7 Mike Vacanti: That’s funny.
0:03:31.8 Jordan Syatt: But it makes me think she’s been doing this consistently, if she acted as though it was a ridiculous question. So now I have to look at the walls around her eye level, see if there’s just…
0:03:40.5 Mike Vacanti: Boogers on there.
0:03:40.6 Jordan Syatt: Smears of boogers all over the wall.
0:03:42.0 Mike Vacanti: It’s not a bad strategy. There’s no Kleenex in reach. You know, she’s what? Three and a half going on four?
0:03:49.1 Jordan Syatt: Yeah, yeah.
0:03:50.5 Mike Vacanti: Yeah. That’s a good…
0:03:52.4 Jordan Syatt: Just smear on the wall.
0:03:53.3 Mike Vacanti: Seems about right. That’s funny.
0:03:56.4 Jordan Syatt: What’s up with you?
0:03:57.2 Mike Vacanti: Big podcast today. Big Q and A today. Just hit an upper body lift. I don’t think I have any announcements.
0:04:05.2 Jordan Syatt: How’s your training going lately?
0:04:06.5 Mike Vacanti: Training’s been good. It’s been good.
0:04:09.7 Jordan Syatt: What split are you running?
0:04:10.7 Mike Vacanti: Three days a week. Four workouts cycled over those three days, upper, lower.
0:04:15.1 Jordan Syatt: Oh, nice.
0:04:15.9 Mike Vacanti: Yeah.
0:04:16.4 Jordan Syatt: Is it… So it’s an upper lower split. So it’s like a four day workout that you do. Like you do A, B, C, week one, D, A, B, week two.
0:04:28.6 Mike Vacanti: Yes, sir.
0:04:28.7 Jordan Syatt: Got it. Awesome. Nice. I like that.
0:04:28.8 Mike Vacanti: Yes, sir. That’s exactly right. Yeah, it’s just, it’s a lot of volume to get in four times a week. I don’t wanna be eating that much, sleeping that much. Like I’m taking a lot of sets to failure, close to failure. So just a nice, like, manageable amount of volume.
0:04:45.8 Jordan Syatt: Where’s your anger at?
0:04:50.2 Mike Vacanti: In this moment?
0:04:51.1 Jordan Syatt: Generally not in this moment, but generally.
0:04:53.3 Mike Vacanti: In the last 24 hours?
0:04:55.5 Jordan Syatt: Yeah.
0:04:58.0 Mike Vacanti: Out of 100?
0:04:58.5 Jordan Syatt: Out of 100.
0:05:00.1 Mike Vacanti: Three.
0:05:00.4 Jordan Syatt: So does that negatively affect your workouts?
0:05:02.7 Mike Vacanti: Probably for muscle building. Yeah.
0:05:04.9 Jordan Syatt: Yeah. Because you’re just like, I’m gonna feel good. I don’t need to take this anywhere near a failure.
0:05:09.9 Mike Vacanti: Yeah. Although, like, the fun, competitive wanting to beat the previous week’s numbers pushes me on certain exercises.
0:05:19.3 Jordan Syatt: Okay.
0:05:19.8 Mike Vacanti: That I just care more about and that I’m having fun doing. Yeah.
0:05:23.5 Jordan Syatt: What are those exercises?
0:05:24.7 Mike Vacanti: Like a weighted chin up or a dumbbell bench. You know, classic.
0:05:31.2 Jordan Syatt: Yeah.
0:05:31.6 Mike Vacanti: Classic upper body bro moves.
0:05:33.4 Jordan Syatt: But, like, there’s no like… It’s not like, if you were at an anger of 80, you’re intense… It’s not that level of intensity?
0:05:41.1 Mike Vacanti: No. No.
0:05:41.9 Jordan Syatt: Yeah.
0:05:43.5 Mike Vacanti: It comes and goes.
0:05:46.8 Jordan Syatt: Good.
0:05:46.9 Mike Vacanti: Actually, I think, even though it has a benefit in like training performance and muscle gain, just not… I’ve always wanted to be motivated by like the light instead of dark and just always struggled with that concept.
0:06:03.3 Jordan Syatt: Yeah. I mean, I feel like when you’re really straining and, like, lifting heavy, very rarely is… I don’t know many people, if any, who are like, really motivated by the light in that moment. Like, you’ve really got to go to a dark place to sometimes get that up.
0:06:19.0 Mike Vacanti: Yeah. In general, though, work or just life.
0:06:22.4 Jordan Syatt: Yeah.
0:06:24.0 Mike Vacanti: I’ve always found it easier to tap into negative emotion to fuel worldly success…
0:06:30.8 Jordan Syatt: 100%.
0:06:30.9 Mike Vacanti: And, like, things that I think are best for me, but then, you know, do I know what’s best for me? And if I have to tap into pain or anger to achieve an outcome, is that the right outcome? I don’t know the right answer because I…
0:06:44.2 Jordan Syatt: It’s a great way to frame it.
0:06:46.2 Mike Vacanti: I did it a lot over the years, and it led to business success and physique success, but I don’t think it’s how… It’s definitely not how I wanna live my whole life.
0:06:59.3 Jordan Syatt: You don’t wanna live like Michael Jordan?
[laughter]
0:07:01.0 Mike Vacanti: No, I don’t wanna live like. I don’t think he’s living his whole life like that, though. I think he’s…
0:07:04.8 Jordan Syatt: Oh, he might, dude.
0:07:06.7 Mike Vacanti: Yeah, maybe.
0:07:08.6 Jordan Syatt: He might.
0:07:08.7 Mike Vacanti: I don’t know if he’s on the same level of competitiveness and like, that he was, maybe on the golf course.
0:07:13.7 Jordan Syatt: Yeah. Who knows what that guy’s doing.
0:07:16.2 Mike Vacanti: I think he invests in F1 or is like the part owner…
0:07:20.1 Jordan Syatt: Oh, really?
0:07:20.7 Mike Vacanti: I don’t know. I don’t know how that works.
0:07:22.6 Jordan Syatt: Interesting.
0:07:22.7 Mike Vacanti: I remember seeing some clips a couple months back. Oh, I have an update for you. Remember, it was either last week or the week before, it might have been three episodes ago at this point I don’t remember. But I said I was going back on Twitter like I had been off for 40 days and I went on and I was scrolling and it felt great.
0:07:39.7 Jordan Syatt: You said it was incredible.
0:07:40.6 Mike Vacanti: It was incredible. How quickly that degenerates into just absolute slop doom scroll like ruining attention span. [laughter] You know, being in a negative mindset, just a lot of like fear mongering type of content.
0:07:58.1 Jordan Syatt: What are you seeing?
0:07:59.1 Mike Vacanti: I deleted it. I deleted it two days ago.
0:08:01.4 Jordan Syatt: What did you see that led you to delete it? What were like… What was the general information you were seeing?
0:08:07.0 Mike Vacanti: Bad personal finance advice.
0:08:09.7 Jordan Syatt: Oh really?
0:08:11.8 Mike Vacanti: Convincing me that everyone in the world is getting cancer. [laughter] Like every young person like has cancer basically. It started so good too…
[overlapping conversation]
0:08:21.1 Jordan Syatt: This is the content targeted for you, that’s crazy.
0:08:24.3 Mike Vacanti: For me…
0:08:24.7 Jordan Syatt: Bad personal finance advice. Like it’s just funny. It’s like that’s like very like you, the finance specifically.
0:08:32.2 Mike Vacanti: I think good personal finance advice would be, but I suppose bad.
0:08:35.0 Jordan Syatt: Well to get an emotional response out of you.
0:08:38.9 Mike Vacanti: Yeah. But part of me was starting to believe it. It’s kind of like when someone follows too many fitness accounts and then they don’t know what to do. It was almost a little bit of that.
0:08:48.1 Jordan Syatt: What was the advice? Was there anything that stuck out as like terrible?
0:08:51.3 Mike Vacanti: I don’t… Just a lot of bears shorting the market over the war and now us completely ripping to all time highs over the last month. But the cancer one was more up your alley at least a few years ago, I feel like you’re…
0:09:10.9 Jordan Syatt: I think everyone’s scared of cancer. [laughter] I think everybody’s scared of it, dude. Everyone’s got cancer fear.
0:09:18.0 Mike Vacanti: Bro let’s… But let’s remember the…
0:09:21.7 Jordan Syatt: The rib.
0:09:21.8 Mike Vacanti: Yeah, the rib.
0:09:22.2 Jordan Syatt: I knew you were gonna bring up the fucking rib.
0:09:24.2 Mike Vacanti: It’s a great story.
0:09:25.8 Jordan Syatt: I knew you were gonna bring up the rib.
0:09:28.4 Mike Vacanti: You don’t like that story?
0:09:28.5 Jordan Syatt: Dude, we both had our own cancer scares. There were times where you’re like dude, I’ve got the cancer.
[overlapping conversation]
0:09:32.5 Mike Vacanti: Hang on, I don’t think we’re in the same ballpark on this one.
[laughter]
0:09:38.5 Jordan Syatt: We’ve definitely been in the same cancer ballpark.
0:09:41.0 Mike Vacanti: I think your statement that everyone has some level of fear is probably accurate. Everyone’s on the one to 100 scale. Some are lower, some are higher.
0:09:50.5 Jordan Syatt: Yeah.
0:09:54.5 Mike Vacanti: Your health anxiety has been very low over the last few years.
0:09:58.2 Jordan Syatt: It’s been much better. It’s been much better, really since I got on the GLP1, been a lot better. Also probably because I’m getting my blood work just so regularly and get to keep track of it so I’m sure that contributes to it.
0:10:12.9 Mike Vacanti: I had some buddies texting me, like, not really fitness guys. Some of my best friends who I grew up with, texting me about Reta after hearing it mentioned on like a pretty mainstream non-fitness podcast.
0:10:25.9 Jordan Syatt: Oh, really? It was mentioned on a non-fitness podcast?
0:10:28.4 Mike Vacanti: Yeah.
0:10:28.9 Jordan Syatt: Interesting.
0:10:29.5 Mike Vacanti: Yeah.
0:10:30.1 Jordan Syatt: What were they… They were asking if they should get on it?
0:10:31.7 Mike Vacanti: One of them was telling the other one he should get on it because he’s getting married in October. He’s like, you got to do it, man.
0:10:36.9 Jordan Syatt: One of your buddies was saying that?
0:10:39.0 Mike Vacanti: Yeah. [laughter] Yeah. And we were just talking about kind of GLP1s in general. Have you… Do you have any desire to try the GLP3?
0:10:53.7 Jordan Syatt: 100%. Of course.
[overlapping conversation]
0:10:56.0 Mike Vacanti: You do?
0:10:56.4 Jordan Syatt: Yeah, dude, of course. Absolutely.
0:10:57.9 Mike Vacanti: Last time I asked you, you said absolutely not.
0:11:00.1 Jordan Syatt: No. I said that?
0:11:01.4 Mike Vacanti: Yeah. You were like, I’m great with this. No, I don’t want that. You didn’t like the elevated sympathetic nervous system activity. You didn’t like the elevated heart resting heart rate associated with Reta compared to Tirzep?
0:11:11.8 Jordan Syatt: I just wanna try it. I definitely wanna try it.
0:11:14.5 Mike Vacanti: You’re such a… You’re like a dabbler.
0:11:17.6 Jordan Syatt: Yeah, I just wanna see how it feels. Yeah, I’d like to try it.
0:11:23.1 Mike Vacanti: Have you tried it?
0:11:23.7 Jordan Syatt: No, I have not tried it because it’s not past trials yet. So what people are getting is not like, there’s more of a risk with it right now in terms of you don’t necessarily know what you’re getting. And so I wanna wait until it’s FDA approved. And that way I…
0:11:42.5 Mike Vacanti: You don’t wanna get it from Beijing, sent to your doorstep…
[overlapping conversation]
0:11:44.2 Jordan Syatt: Yeah, I don’t wanna get it from China, a basement in China. Yeah, I wanna make sure I’m getting it… So I’ll wait until it’s approved and then it’s more widely available. But yeah, I’ll definitely try it once that happens. I did speak with someone recently who was on Tirzepatide. Then they tried Reta and they didn’t have a good reaction to it. And that either makes me think they didn’t get Reta, it was something else, or you just might not respond as well. But I think I would like to try it when it becomes available.
0:12:15.6 Mike Vacanti: What do you want from it that you’re not getting right now?
0:12:18.5 Jordan Syatt: There’s not like a specific goal where I’m like, oh, I really wanna take it for this. I just wanna test it out. Like, I would also like to try just different options of GLPs just to see how it feels, just to see how my personal response is, so. But, I mean, Reta appears to be like significantly more powerful.
0:12:40.8 Mike Vacanti: Yeah. Yeah. I mean, the supposed ability to target fat loss over muscle loss relative to Tirzepatide is definitely interesting.
0:12:58.5 Jordan Syatt: Yeah.
0:13:01.5 Mike Vacanti: You’re such a big cardio and heart health guy, though, that I’m surprised that you’re interested, given how good of a spot you’re in right now.
0:13:15.1 Jordan Syatt: You know how with investments, like, I… It’s funny, you think about, well, if I don’t invest in this then how much could I potentially lose out on, right? Whereas like I’m…
0:13:25.2 Mike Vacanti: Opportunity cost.
0:13:26.8 Jordan Syatt: Yeah. I’m more like, oh, man, I just don’t wanna lose what I already have type of a thing. It’s funny, I go the other way with something like this where I’m like, ooh, this might even be better. And what if I miss out on… Does that make sense?
0:13:40.6 Mike Vacanti: Yeah.
0:13:41.0 Jordan Syatt: Yeah.
0:13:41.5 Mike Vacanti: And you’re basing better off how you feel on it more so than, you know, the results of trials?
0:13:50.2 Jordan Syatt: Correct. Like, I don’t really care about, like, getting leaner ab veins. Like that for me is… I’m just not really concerned about it and it’s not a… I’m more just like, I just wanna see how it makes me feel.
0:14:03.2 Mike Vacanti: Cool.
0:14:04.2 Jordan Syatt: Yeah. So when it becomes available, I’ll try it.
0:14:05.7 Mike Vacanti: I won’t. [laughter] I’m holding strong. I’m holding. I wanna be the last natty left walking the earth. The last guy to be like, yep, I had protein powder and creatine, but that’s it. Today we are ranking the top 20 healthiest snacks for fat loss.
0:14:30.1 Jordan Syatt: Oh, okay. I like it.
0:14:32.2 Mike Vacanti: One last thing on the GLPs, the interesting thing that I’m still waiting for… One of the interesting things I’m still waiting for is some kind of RCT where a group on these shots, any of these shots versus a group not on them, loses a very similar amount of weight. And then you compare health benefits.
0:14:57.9 Jordan Syatt: Yeah, agreed. Yeah, agreed.
0:15:00.3 Mike Vacanti: That’s something where, I could be wrong, but I believe we don’t fully understand whether or not these compounds alone are beneficial, aside from the fat loss effects they have.
0:15:14.2 Jordan Syatt: All I know is from my personal N equals one, when I’ve tracked blood work along with weight loss, both on and off, my cholesterol has improved way more being on than it did before when I lost even more weight when I wasn’t on.
0:15:32.7 Mike Vacanti: Interesting.
0:15:33.3 Jordan Syatt: And that’s my N equals one. But that, for me was one of the primary factors of why I wanted to stay on it.
0:15:39.5 Mike Vacanti: How much weight did you lose not on?
0:15:41.5 Jordan Syatt: There were times where I got down to like 135 to 138.
0:15:45.5 Mike Vacanti: Yeah.
0:15:46.1 Jordan Syatt: And right now I’m like 142 and my cholesterol is better than it was at 135 to 138.
0:15:52.1 Mike Vacanti: Cool. Yeah. I’ll still wait for the RCT, but interesting.
0:15:57.6 Jordan Syatt: Yeah, of course, that’s just N equals one.
0:15:59.2 Mike Vacanti: Number one, Greek yogurt with berries.
0:16:02.7 Jordan Syatt: Ready?
0:16:03.6 Mike Vacanti: Three, two, one.
0:16:05.5 Jordan Syatt: S. S tier.
0:16:06.6 Mike Vacanti: S tier for both. Go ahead, Jordan.
0:16:09.4 Jordan Syatt: Listen, you’ve got protein, you’ve got calcium, you’ve got gut health benefits, you’ve got fiber, you’ve got vitamin C, you’ve got so many great things and it’s filling, it’s wildly filling and you can add other… It’s easy to add stuff too as well. Like if you wanna add more stuff to it, you’re welcome to. It’s just, it goes with everything. It’s quick, it’s easy. It’s… I would say the biggest drawback is the cost of it can be a little bit expensive. Berries can be a little bit more expensive.
0:16:49.5 Mike Vacanti: Costco.
0:16:49.9 Jordan Syatt: You can find… Yeah, Costco, Costco, Walmart. I get all my produce at Walmart, so it’s incredible. Like, Walmart is super underrated for produce, by the way.
0:16:59.8 Mike Vacanti: They have good produce.
0:17:01.0 Jordan Syatt: They have very good produce. It was funny, I said, I wanna do it. My wife at first was like, really? And then she went, she was like, oh, wow. Like, this produce is really good. So, yeah, that would be the only potential drawback.
0:17:11.9 Mike Vacanti: It’s like 90% of women between the ages of 20 and 50 have like a visceral negative reaction to Walmart. Yeah.
0:17:18.6 Jordan Syatt: Yeah, yeah.
0:17:20.0 Mike Vacanti: Which is so weird because, I mean, I’m sure there’s some Walmarts that are a little janky, but the Walmarts I’ve been in recently are really nice. Like clean, well lit.
0:17:29.2 Jordan Syatt: Walmart got a really bad reputation. Yeah.
0:17:31.0 Mike Vacanti: And the produce is tasty.
0:17:33.5 Jordan Syatt: It’s tasty, it’s fresh. Yeah. It’s clean. Yeah.
0:17:35.8 Mike Vacanti: Yeah, yeah, yeah. This is S tier. The one benefit that you didn’t even mention is the protein to calorie ratio here, which is something that is gonna… You’re gonna hear me repeating a lot in this episode because most people trying to lose body fat aren’t eating enough protein. Some people are, but the majority of people aren’t. And something that they struggle with with meals and snacks is having too many calories per gram of protein in a meal or in a snack, which just makes it hard to hit your protein and your calories at the end of the day. So I mean, Greek yogurt, you can get fat free Greek yogurt. And so this can be a zero fat snack right here. It’s a relatively low carb snack with a solid amount of protein, so S tier.
0:18:25.7 Jordan Syatt: And it’s delicious.
0:18:29.0 Mike Vacanti: Delicious, delicious. I’ve been doing a really delicious version of this. I’m not trying to lose fat right now, but at night I’m having this Greek yogurt bowl before bed. That’s Greek yogurt, fruit, so sometimes berries. Usually like blueberries and banana is what I’ve been going with.
0:18:46.8 Jordan Syatt: That’s amazing.
0:18:48.1 Mike Vacanti: Walnuts, some mini-chocolate chips.
0:18:51.8 Jordan Syatt: Nice.
0:18:53.4 Mike Vacanti: Coconut flakes.
0:18:53.7 Jordan Syatt: Wow.
0:18:54.8 Mike Vacanti: And I drizzle a little honey on top. It’s like a dessert-ish. But reasonably dialed.
0:19:01.5 Jordan Syatt: That’s like a healthier, more macro friendly açai bowl.
0:19:06.5 Mike Vacanti: Mmm. Yeah.
0:19:07.0 Jordan Syatt: Like you have Greek yogurt instead of the açai.
0:19:10.6 Mike Vacanti: Higher protein.
0:19:12.0 Jordan Syatt: Love that. That sounds amazing. I like the coconut flake and the walnut addition.
0:19:16.3 Mike Vacanti: Yeah. You know, as much as I, a couple episodes ago was hating on nuts, got to get some in there. Number two, cottage cheese with fruit or veggies.
0:19:28.0 Jordan Syatt: This one’s gonna be controversial.
0:19:29.8 Mike Vacanti: One, two, three.
0:19:33.8 Jordan Syatt: S.
0:19:33.9 Mike Vacanti: S tier. This is gonna be controversial?
0:19:35.6 Jordan Syatt: S tier. Yeah. Because cottage cheese gets like a lot of hate. And I think it gets a lot of hate because everyone’s using it for these different recipes. Like, yeah, use cottage cheese. And so I’ve seen a lot of people hating on it, but it’s fucking awesome.
0:19:52.4 Mike Vacanti: They’re hating on the taste?
0:19:53.6 Jordan Syatt: No, they’re hating on how everyone’s using it for like it’s now become like all these different high protein, low calorie recipes. Everyone’s using cottage cheese and I get it because it’s a little bit annoying. It’s like, how many fucking cottage cheese recipes are we gonna have? But also it’s like it’s such an… I still think it’s an underrated ingredient that you can use or underrated food that you can use to very quickly and easily make something higher calorie, lower… I’m sorry. Higher protein, lower calorie. Tastes really, really good. Fit into your macros and make fat loss easier. One thing I like to do, at first when you said veggies, I was like, eh. But one of the things we like to do, we have these ranch packets or like dip packets that it’s like a seasoning and you can put it into the cottage cheese or even Greek yogurt and that makes it taste like a vegetable dip. And then it’s actually really good with vegetables.
0:20:51.3 Mike Vacanti: I bet.
0:20:52.0 Jordan Syatt: So like a ranch vegetable dip. And it’s only like, I don’t know, 20 calories, 40 calories or something for the entire packet. And that’s multiple servings. And it’s… You can make… We make like a veggie platter when people come over and you put it in Greek yogurt or you put it in cottage cheese and it’s a delicious high protein, low calorie dip.
0:21:07.7 Mike Vacanti: Sounds awesome.
0:21:08.8 Jordan Syatt: Yeah.
0:21:09.4 Mike Vacanti: I’d like to try that. Yeah, this is… It’s very similar to number one. Right? In terms of macronutrient profile, in terms of like relative convenience. When I was the leanest… When I was one of the leanest I’ve ever been, which was like leading up to spring break one year in college, cottage cheese with grapes was like my evening snack. Fat free cottage cheese and grapes for like a month and a half straight. I don’t see the hate of it in recipes, but standing by itself as a snack is like a classic high protein, lowish calorie option. Number three, hard boiled eggs.
0:21:54.5 Jordan Syatt: The whole egg?
0:21:55.4 Mike Vacanti: Yes, sir.
0:21:56.0 Jordan Syatt: This one’s gonna be controversial.
0:21:57.5 Mike Vacanti: Jordan put B. One, two, three. D.
0:22:04.1 Jordan Syatt: D.
0:22:04.2 Mike Vacanti: That’s crazy. You’re such an egg hater these days. Are eggs very popular in culture and so you’re going contrarian or what’s going on here? I put A, Jordan put D.
0:22:13.3 Jordan Syatt: Yeah. So number one, I specifically wanted to make sure we’re talking about the whole egg, not egg white. If it was egg white, it would have been S. But if it’s whole egg, number one is, whole eggs are not high protein. If we’re talking about your ratio of protein per calorie, like, they’re just not, they’re not high protein.
0:22:35.2 Mike Vacanti: Yeah, 33% protein.
0:22:37.0 Jordan Syatt: It’s not high and I think it’s a good snack if you wanna include it. And I would love it, like, if you’re gonna have eggs, I would encourage you to have like maybe one or two whole eggs, but the vast majority coming from egg white. I’m also thinking about the saturated fat, the cholesterol as… But again, like, we’re mainly talking about fat loss. So, like, that’s just a smaller percentage of it, but it has to be mentioned.
0:23:06.6 Mike Vacanti: That’s… Yeah. Yep.
0:23:07.8 Jordan Syatt: I think that, I really don’t think they’re filling either. I don’t think they’re very filling. I don’t think they’re great from a satiety perspective and I think that they’ve gotten so much love over the years as this incredible, like bodybuilder food that people overestimate them, which causes them to overlook other things. Like I would 10 times out of 10, rather you have cottage cheese or Greek yogurt over the whole egg. And again, they’re… Like, they can be a nice snack, they can be included, but as a main priority, like for healthy fat loss, that’s not anywhere near the top of the list for me.
0:23:51.7 Mike Vacanti: Cool. I definitely have them ranked higher than you. I’m, you know, for most people, if you’re having hard boiled eggs as a snack, I’m thinking like two of them. I’m not thinking five of them because like you said, when you’re in a deficit, having that much fat/that little protein per calorie of a meal or snack, just is gonna make it harder to hit your targets for the day. I’m less concerned… I’m definitely less concerned with dietary cholesterol intake and slightly less concerned with the saturated fat. Unless you’re doing some kind of diet that is primarily saturated fat. Right? If you’re on Carnivore and you’re eating a whole bunch of red meat and a whole bunch of eggs every single day, then I’m more concerned. But as one snack, I’m less concerned with that side of things. N equals one, I like the immediate, potentially placebo, but brain health benefits of eating whole eggs. Like, I actually feel like when I have scrambled eggs for breakfast that I can focus better marginally during the day than if I have some other similar macronutrient profile meal or snack, but without the choline, without the egg yolk or whatever else is in there that might be helping me. Yeah, I just like eggs. I think they taste good. I actually don’t love hard boiled eggs. Find them a little annoying with peeling them and I don’t think they’re the tastiest option. But in terms of a snack, they’re, you know, way more convenient than having a sunny side up egg.
0:25:41.8 Jordan Syatt: Can I just say, bringing a hard boiled egg onto a plane is wildly inappropriate.
0:25:47.4 Mike Vacanti: Completely disagree.
0:25:48.3 Jordan Syatt: I think it’s wildly… It’s the smell of the hard boiled egg, same with tuna.
0:25:53.1 Mike Vacanti: People trying to police what other people eat on airplanes is one of the most wild things that I see in life.
0:26:01.6 Jordan Syatt: I’m not policing, I’m just saying…
0:26:03.8 Mike Vacanti: You said it’s wildly inappropriate.
0:26:05.6 Jordan Syatt: I’m not gonna say, hey, don’t bring that on, but in my head I’m saying that’s wildly inappropriate and inconsiderate. I’m not policing, I’m judging.
0:26:16.0 Mike Vacanti: I think it’s inconsiderate if you don’t bring enough to share with your fellow row mates and help everyone get dialed.
[overlapping conversation]
0:26:23.2 Jordan Syatt: You would want them to be like, hey, I brought you a hard boiled egg.
[laughter]
0:26:25.5 Mike Vacanti: Yeah, I’d be pumped. I’d be like, thank you. Thank you, miss.
0:26:28.5 Jordan Syatt: Oh, yes.
0:26:29.0 Mike Vacanti: So thoughtful.
0:26:31.1 Jordan Syatt: No, no, dude. Tuna and hard boiled eggs on a plane, inappropriate.
0:26:37.3 Mike Vacanti: I think farting on a plane is inappropriate.
0:26:41.9 Jordan Syatt: Well, I disagree completely. You can’t force them to hold it in.
0:26:46.5 Mike Vacanti: Okay. You want people not going back to the bathroom.
0:26:50.1 Jordan Syatt: I can understand a fart more than I can understand a hard boiled egg.
0:26:53.5 Mike Vacanti: That’s wild.
0:26:54.4 Jordan Syatt: I understand it more because, like, dude, sometimes you hold a fart in, it can hurt. You know what I mean?
0:26:58.8 Mike Vacanti: Yeah. It’s a price you pay for the people around you on the plane. It’s called being considerate of your fellow.
0:27:06.8 Jordan Syatt: You can choose to bring a hard boiled egg on. You can’t choose to keep a fart in there for a long time.
0:27:12.9 Mike Vacanti: You definitely can choose to fart or not to fart. That’s a choice.
0:27:16.3 Jordan Syatt: Depends on what’s going on internally.
[laughter]
0:27:23.1 Mike Vacanti: Number four, we got to get moving. Apple slices with peanut/nut butter. One, two, three.
0:27:36.4 Jordan Syatt: D. Oh, you gave C. I gave D.
0:27:39.4 Mike Vacanti: C.
0:27:40.7 Jordan Syatt: You go first.
0:27:40.8 Mike Vacanti: If it was just an apple, I really like it.
0:27:43.9 Jordan Syatt: Agree.
0:27:44.5 Mike Vacanti: Decently filling, lowish calorie, micronutrients, a little vitamin C, some fiber, tasty, hyper convenient. I would add cool. I think, like, eating an apple in public is a cool food to eat. [laughter] Like, you’re walking around, you kind of do this, you take a bite. Like, I would argue it’s one of the cooler foods you can eat in public. So there’s that if you’re into the stylistic elements.
0:28:13.3 Jordan Syatt: What if you do it with a knife? Like, you’re cutting it off with a knife, does that make it more or less cool?
0:28:18.5 Mike Vacanti: Depend… If you’re like that kind of person who always has a pocket knife and you do it, it’s extra cool, I would say. If you brought your kitchen knife with you to do it, then it’s kind of like, why don’t you just bite into the apple?
0:28:31.0 Jordan Syatt: Yeah, agreed.
0:28:32.2 Mike Vacanti: Yeah, yeah. Adding the peanut butter is just adding too much fat and too much calories in a snack that, I mean, it’s delicious and I’ve had this snack, but for fat loss, it’s too many calories and not enough protein for a snack that makes it harder again to hit your targets for the day.
0:28:53.9 Jordan Syatt: Yeah, I completely agree. I gave it a D because of everything you said. And when you, let’s say you take an appropriate amount of nut butter, which most people aren’t. Most people, when they’re gonna have an apple with nut butter, anytime they use any type of nut butter, they’re using more than they should be, typically.
0:29:17.2 Mike Vacanti: Absolutely.
0:29:17.9 Jordan Syatt: Like significantly more. But let’s say you’re like, okay, I’m watching my calories, I’m weighing this out, I’m gonna have an appropriate portion. You don’t finish that snack happy because you have an appropriate amount of nut butter, which is inherently less than you want. Like, you always want more. And so when you’re looking at the amount of butter that you have, now you’re just already upset that you can’t eat more than you would actually like to. So it becomes a snack that is not even really as enjoyable because you don’t get nearly as much nut butter as you’d like. So that’s why I gave it a D.
0:29:51.7 Mike Vacanti: Yeah. It leaves you more unsatisfied than you came in.
0:29:55.2 Jordan Syatt: Yeah, exactly.
0:29:56.5 Mike Vacanti: Yeah. Kind of like Oreos.
[overlapping conversation]
0:29:57.0 Jordan Syatt: And you’re thinking, why am I even trying to do this? I’d rather just have more nut butter.
0:30:00.7 Mike Vacanti: Yeah. Why eat the serving size of Oreos? Why have two Oreos? Rather have zero. Five, mixed nuts or almonds.
0:30:11.1 Jordan Syatt: What an odd way to phrase that, Grok. You can either have mixed nuts or almonds. [laughter] And I always have different answers for that, for those two.
0:30:23.1 Mike Vacanti: You’ll just have to combine them.
0:30:23.8 Jordan Syatt: You’re gonna be surprised at this one.
0:30:25.1 Mike Vacanti: Yeah. You’re going high. I know you’re a big nut guy. Three, two, one.
0:30:31.9 Jordan Syatt: C. Oh, nice. We both did C.
0:30:34.2 Mike Vacanti: Yeah. You thought that I would think that you’re lower?
0:30:37.0 Jordan Syatt: I thought that you were gonna go F.
0:30:38.8 Mike Vacanti: Oh, no.
0:30:39.8 Jordan Syatt: Okay.
0:30:40.0 Mike Vacanti: A lot of health benefits to nuts. You could do a lot worse, especially if you’re portioning them properly and you’re tracking like is it a high protein snack? No, it’s not. But as much if not more nutritional benefit than the previous, you know, than apples and peanut butter, from a health perspective, it’s just you really got to be tracking, weighing, counting. Like you can’t eyeball, take a big handful and then assume you only had one serving because you definitely had two and a half servings there. And so people who are willy nilly with their tracking, things like nuts and nut butters can put them over. But if you’re paying attention and doing it right, yeah, it can be a fine snack.
0:31:27.9 Jordan Syatt: Yeah, I agree. I also think one or two servings of Almonds is actually pretty filling. I… It’s one of those things I don’t get full immediately, but within about 30 minutes I’m full. Like, it sticks to your bones. You know what I mean? That fat content, it’s like, I’m pretty satiated after having some almonds. I probably would have given this a lower score. I really weighed the almonds heavily on this one with health…
[overlapping conversation]
0:31:54.1 Mike Vacanti: Upside?
0:31:55.4 Jordan Syatt: Yeah. If it was, like, just peanuts, I definitely would have given it a lower score. But almonds, walnuts, those things, I definitely weigh higher in terms of health benefits.
0:32:09.6 Mike Vacanti: I think almonds definitely have more satiety than…
0:32:13.7 Jordan Syatt: Yes.
0:32:14.0 Mike Vacanti: Any… Definitely more than peanuts. Definitely more than cashews. Cashews, I could eat a…
0:32:18.7 Jordan Syatt: Definitely.
0:32:18.8 Mike Vacanti: I could eat a thousand calories of cashews and, like…
0:32:20.9 Jordan Syatt: Easy. Same with pistachios.
0:32:23.9 Mike Vacanti: I’d get a stomach ache, but I wouldn’t be full. I’d want more, just. Pistachios, if they’re in the shell, are decent because then you got to work for them.
0:32:32.8 Jordan Syatt: Yeah.
0:32:33.7 Mike Vacanti: If they’re out of the shell, all bets are off.
0:32:35.9 Jordan Syatt: Good luck.
0:32:37.2 Mike Vacanti: Yeah. Good luck.
0:32:37.3 Jordan Syatt: You never buy pistachios out of the shell, ever.
0:32:39.9 Mike Vacanti: No. No.
0:32:40.6 Jordan Syatt: Ever.
0:32:41.1 Mike Vacanti: Or like, sunflower seeds.
0:32:42.9 Jordan Syatt: Yeah.
0:32:45.6 Mike Vacanti: Yeah. Almonds are more filling for sure than other nuts. Six, Edamame, steamed.
0:32:54.8 Jordan Syatt: You’re gonna lose your shit when you see this. I just spoke about this on my story yesterday.
0:32:59.1 Mike Vacanti: You want me to tell you what you gave it?
0:33:00.7 Jordan Syatt: I know what… I know that you know what I gave it.
0:33:03.8 Mike Vacanti: S plus?
0:33:04.4 Jordan Syatt: No, just S. I just gave it S.
0:33:05.7 Mike Vacanti: Yeah, they’re an S.
0:33:07.5 Jordan Syatt: Oh, wow. Let’s go. That was… You were not happy about that.
0:33:10.7 Mike Vacanti: No, but call a spade a spade, you know?
0:33:13.5 Jordan Syatt: Yeah.
0:33:15.3 Mike Vacanti: If someone I don’t like does something good, I’m gonna say they did something good. I’m not gonna…
0:33:20.0 Jordan Syatt: Dude, that’s an important skill. I agree completely.
0:33:23.8 Mike Vacanti: Is it a skill?
0:33:24.7 Jordan Syatt: I think so. I think it’s a skill because I think it’s human nature to want to… If you don’t like someone, to just immediately take away from what they’ve done. But, yeah, I think you have to learn to really be okay doing that.
0:33:38.4 Mike Vacanti: Yeah. I mean, great macros. Highly portable. Tastes good. Not much else to say unless you have a lot to add here.
0:33:48.4 Jordan Syatt: No, it’s… I think it’s super underrated. It goes, like when I post about it and I share that there’s a significant amount of protein, significant amount of fiber, people are like, oh, my gosh, I love edamame, and I had no idea. And I’m like, man, if you really love edamame and you can easily add that in as a quick snack as opposed to the other shit you’re eating, it’s like, that’s such a great swap.
0:34:15.8 Mike Vacanti: Yeah.
0:34:16.4 Jordan Syatt: You know, it’s just such a great swap. Get some salted edamame. Like, are you kidding me?
0:34:21.0 Mike Vacanti: Yeah, it is tasty. I love it as an app. Seven, veggies, carrots, cucumbers, bell peppers, celery with hummus or guacamole.
0:34:31.9 Jordan Syatt: Man.
0:34:34.5 Mike Vacanti: You had a different rating until those last couple of words?
0:34:36.7 Jordan Syatt: Until the last couple of words. Do we have to take into account the last couple of words?
0:34:40.8 Mike Vacanti: All right, why don’t we just do veggies and then we’ll do the whole thing. So we’re gonna go 7A and 7B.
0:34:46.8 Jordan Syatt: Okay, I’m gonna split my screen and then we’ll go.
0:34:49.8 Mike Vacanti: 7A is just veggies.
0:34:52.5 Jordan Syatt: Got it.
0:34:53.2 Mike Vacanti: One, two, three.
0:34:55.3 Jordan Syatt: Oh, wow. Okay. I said S for veggies and you said S for veggies. And then I said B plus for the addition of guacamole and hummus. And you said D with that addition. You go first.
0:35:10.5 Mike Vacanti: Yep. Hummus and guacamole. I mean, straight veggies, albeit minimal or no protein, also have almost no calories. Like the veggies listed here have fiber and water and some micronutrients and add a little bit of satiety.
0:35:35.3 Jordan Syatt: A lot of satiety.
0:35:38.6 Mike Vacanti: I’m less of a believer in the volume satiety hypothesis than most people. Yeah. I don’t… I think a lot of why we are hungry and eat doesn’t have to do with what we feel in our stomach. I think it’s much more in our brain.
0:35:52.9 Jordan Syatt: That’s not discussed enough. I completely agree with that.
0:35:55.4 Mike Vacanti: That being said, this is super healthy and low calorie and is giving you something to do and is not adding excess calories that aren’t protein. And so veggies as a snack, let’s go. It gives you more calories to use on the rest of your meals or snacks throughout the day. Highly portable, dialed. Do you have anything else to say on just veggies?
0:36:18.4 Jordan Syatt: No. I mean, they’re just… If I… Here’s the thing if I, like, am trying to lose fat, I’m increasing my veggies. It’s just like it always, it always… Anytime I’m trying to lose fat, I’m increasing my veggies, which is like, great. That’s S tier for me. I’m deliberately gonna increase my veggies. It’s gonna help keep me more full. Then you have all the other added benefits, fiber, micros, whatever. But it’s like it just, that’s like the number one thing I’m doing. My protein is always staying constant. I’m just gonna eat more veggies, it always makes it easier.
0:36:52.4 Mike Vacanti: When you say veggies, you mean like corn, pizza and French fries?
0:36:55.8 Jordan Syatt: That’s exactly what I’m talking about. That’s pretty… No, like carrots, even more greens, cucumbers, bell peppers, things I can stir fry, mushrooms, onions, just like…
0:37:09.4 Mike Vacanti: Non-starchy vegetables.
0:37:13.3 Jordan Syatt: Correct.
0:37:14.6 Mike Vacanti: Yeah, yep. And then we add hummus/guacamole and I mean we’re just adding guac especially.
0:37:27.7 Jordan Syatt: Guac especially, that’s the big one. Yeah.
0:37:29.6 Mike Vacanti: And the tricky thing about hummus is when I’m eating guac, I know I’m eating something that’s very calorically dense and high fat and I’m careful. When I eat hummus, it’s like a tasty food that I’m like never 100% sure on the macros and I’m pretty sure that I can just crush it and be okay and I can’t. And the serving sizes, I’m pretty sure it’s two tablespoons and…
0:37:58.7 Jordan Syatt: Yep. Correct.
0:37:58.8 Mike Vacanti: I can easily eat 25 tablespoons and…
0:38:03.5 Jordan Syatt: Easy.
0:38:04.0 Mike Vacanti: Yeah, it’s really good. There isn’t a lot of satiety there for me.
0:38:09.2 Jordan Syatt: No, there’s not, there’s not.
0:38:11.9 Mike Vacanti: You know, it makes the veggies taste way better. But from a fat loss perspective, we’re adding calories and we’re not adding protein. I guess technically with guac we’re, you know, we’re adding healthy fats, we’re adding some fiber.
0:38:25.3 Jordan Syatt: Fiber. Listen, I agree this is for fat loss and both of these are very healthy options. They’re very nutrient dense, they’re wonderful options. But if it’s between nut butters versus guacamole/hummus, it’s a no brainer for me. It’s guacamole and hummus, like that’s just for me a no brainer from a health perspective. You just get way more nutrients, fiber, I would say vitamins and minerals. I think that guacamole and hummus are better, but they add a significant number of calories and guacamole more than hummus. Like it’s… Guacamole has way more calories, just a significantly higher fat. I think it’s easier to overeat, but they’re both very easy to overeat. So yeah.
0:39:15.6 Mike Vacanti: B plus is interesting. B plus is a little high.
0:39:17.1 Jordan Syatt: It’s… To be fair, I think it’s my bias. I’ve got… I always have hummus in my fridge, like huge quantities of it. And I eat it basically on a daily. And guacamole I have several times a week, I really enjoy it. But I do have to moderate it. I’m very well…
0:39:34.0 Mike Vacanti: You have guac or just avocado several times a week?
0:39:36.4 Jordan Syatt: Both.
0:39:36.8 Mike Vacanti: Oh, wow.
0:39:37.4 Jordan Syatt: We make fresh guac. I have a tub of it sitting in there right now.
0:39:42.0 Mike Vacanti: You make fresh guac?
0:39:43.1 Jordan Syatt: Yeah.
0:39:43.7 Mike Vacanti: Really?
0:39:44.4 Jordan Syatt: Yeah.
0:39:44.9 Mike Vacanti: I didn’t know that.
0:39:46.1 Jordan Syatt: It’s easy.
0:39:47.1 Mike Vacanti: Beef jerky or turkey sticks. I don’t know a lot about turkey sticks.
0:39:51.9 Jordan Syatt: I’m gonna assume that it’s just the turkey version of jerky.
0:39:55.4 Mike Vacanti: Let’s do that.
0:39:56.1 Jordan Syatt: Beef jerky or turkey jerky? Yeah.
0:40:00.3 Mike Vacanti: I almost wanna dock it a little. Did you write yours?
0:40:02.8 Jordan Syatt: Yeah.
0:40:03.5 Mike Vacanti: I’m reluctantly giving it an S. I don’t know why, I kinda wanna give it an A.
0:40:06.9 Jordan Syatt: I gave it an A.
0:40:09.1 Mike Vacanti: Why’d you give it an A?
0:40:11.5 Jordan Syatt: I gave it an A because it is such an easy and quite frankly delicious way to get more protein in. It’s just like… It’s also, I think it is pretty filling per calorie. It’s high protein per calorie. It’s relatively filling per calorie. It doesn’t really spoil very easily. Like you can have it for a long period of time. It’s easy to travel with. I think for me, the biggest dock is that it’s expensive unless you’re making it yourself.
0:40:45.5 Mike Vacanti: Okay, I almost said cost is not a… If cost wasn’t a factor, would you give it an S?
0:40:50.3 Jordan Syatt: Yeah, if cost wasn’t a factor, I’d make it an S. That for me is the biggest one where it’s just like… And they just keep getting more and more expensive. That’s why I don’t get it at airports and stuff. That’s typically why I don’t buy it is because it’s so expensive, so.
0:41:05.2 Mike Vacanti: Yeah, yeah, yeah. We’re very much on the same page. The cost is extremely annoying. I also have enjoyed it less over the last five to seven years than I used to. And I don’t know if that’s a function of the beef jerky being worse. Like oftentimes it’s very hard and not very flavorful.
0:41:26.1 Jordan Syatt: Agreed.
0:41:27.6 Mike Vacanti: It like, sometimes hurts my teeth and gums, which is weird.
0:41:31.6 Jordan Syatt: Yeah. And jaw.
0:41:32.8 Mike Vacanti: Can get… And jaw. Gets like stuck in between teeth and can be really annoying. The macros are phenomenal. If it’s good beef jerky, it’s, you know, top tier.
0:41:44.3 Jordan Syatt: Incredible.
0:41:45.5 Mike Vacanti: Yeah. If cost isn’t at play, I think it’s an a S. But like…
0:41:53.0 Jordan Syatt: If you’re making it yourself, amazing.
0:41:56.4 Mike Vacanti: Yeah. Yeah.
0:41:57.7 Jordan Syatt: When I went hunting and we got some turkey, we got some deer jerky out of it, amazing. I would do that all the time. It’s so nice to have on hand. Just take some, put it in a bag, you’re good to go.
0:42:12.4 Mike Vacanti: Yeah. Yeah. It is decently filling. I think partly the… Yeah. Like well done chicken breasts exhaust your jaw, you don’t even wanna eat. I think there’s some of that at play.
0:42:25.6 Jordan Syatt: Yeah.
0:42:26.3 Mike Vacanti: Cool. Nine, cherry tomatoes with mozzarella.
0:42:31.5 Jordan Syatt: Oh, man.
0:42:32.9 Mike Vacanti: Ready?
0:42:33.3 Jordan Syatt: Yep.
0:42:34.1 Mike Vacanti: One, two, three.
0:42:36.1 Jordan Syatt: Oh, you gave F. I gave D. Yeah.
0:42:38.7 Mike Vacanti: F.
0:42:40.2 Jordan Syatt: Why’d you give F? Yeah.
0:42:42.8 Mike Vacanti: Garbage. It’s a garbage fat loss snack. What are we… Why is this even on the list? This is like a pretty tasty wedding appetizer during the cocktail hour when they’re walking around and depending on how dialed or not dialed I wanna be that day, I’ll have between zero and three of them. And yeah, the balsamic, which is basically just sugar, is delicious. Very little protein, healthy fats. I don’t know which fats they’re considering healthy here.
0:43:17.5 Jordan Syatt: Yeah. Because I don’t think…
[overlapping conversation]
0:43:18.7 Mike Vacanti: Are there some hidden monounsaturateds I don’t know about?
0:43:20.8 Jordan Syatt: I don’t think so. Not that I’m aware of.
0:43:22.1 Mike Vacanti: Does mozzarella have omega 3 or omega 6 polyunsaturated? Like, what’s going… I don’t know. There’s no healthy fats here. Not really filling, if it’s really tasty, you wanna have nine of them.
0:43:36.4 Jordan Syatt: And it’s usually on focaccia.
0:43:37.9 Mike Vacanti: Yeah, delicious.
0:43:39.6 Jordan Syatt: Delicious.
0:43:40.3 Mike Vacanti: Not fat loss. 10, air popped popcorn.
0:43:45.1 Jordan Syatt: This one is largely dependent on the brand. I’m going based on the brand that I get, which is like a sick, sick brand.
0:43:56.4 Mike Vacanti: All right. One, two, three.
0:43:58.3 Jordan Syatt: I gave it an A. You gave it a B. All right. Nice.
0:44:01.7 Mike Vacanti: Yeah. I mean, it’s a lot of volume for not a lot of calories. There is a decent amount of fiber, depending on the brand. And I’m sure with the right herbs or whatever, you can make it taste good without adding many, if any, calories. I have a bro science, like anti-popcorn theory about the little… What do you… The little shell things in them.
0:44:30.5 Jordan Syatt: Kernels?
0:44:31.8 Mike Vacanti: No, not the kernel. Just like the little flaky… What’s it called? That annoying little part that can get stuck between your teeth.
0:44:39.5 Jordan Syatt: I thought that was a kernel.
0:44:40.5 Mike Vacanti: Isn’t the kernel the hard part?
0:44:41.7 Jordan Syatt: I have no idea.
0:44:42.8 Mike Vacanti: Maybe it’s part of the kernel. You know that tan little flaky thing in the middle?
0:44:47.1 Jordan Syatt: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Those are the things that fucking annoy me. They get stuck in, you got to floss.
0:44:50.7 Mike Vacanti: Yeah. I’m pretty sure they get stuck in your GI track too. And I can’t prove this, but we’re back here. I’m almost certain that those things just like wedge themselves in your intestinal lining. And I don’t want that living in there.
0:45:05.3 Jordan Syatt: I think it’s part of the fiber. I think it’s part… Helps actually push it out.
0:45:08.7 Mike Vacanti: I can’t prove this, but no, it’s burying its way into your intestines and it’s living there. And who knows how long it’s there. I had to dock it to… The reason I docked it from an A to an A B. Very little, if any protein, bro science, it embeds itself in your GI tract. And I can’t… Like, I don’t have a lot of control on this one. You know, put three cups in a separate bowl so that you don’t eat more. Well, I’m walking back to the cupboard to get the bag anyway, because…
0:45:40.9 Jordan Syatt: Yeah. I’m eating the whole bag.
0:45:41.8 Mike Vacanti: It’s… Yeah.
0:45:43.3 Jordan Syatt: I get LesserEvil, is the name of the brand. Super good. Very low calorie, like, they’re not dousing it with butter. It tastes objectively delicious. Very high fiber, low calorie. For me, that’s just like, if I’m gonna have a big snack, like, the entire bag is like 450 or 500 calories at most or something. So it’s not outrageous. And…
0:46:05.6 Mike Vacanti: It’s got to be a lot of fiber, no?
0:46:07.3 Jordan Syatt: A huge amount of fiber. Huge, huge amount of fiber.
0:46:10.7 Mike Vacanti: You’re worried about too much fiber Jordan?
0:46:12.4 Jordan Syatt: Never.
0:46:13.4 Mike Vacanti: 4.5 per serving. Oh, four times four. All right, so 18 grams. I thought it was gonna be higher than that.
0:46:20.2 Jordan Syatt: Yeah, it’s great.
0:46:21.1 Mike Vacanti: Pales in comparison to the time I watched you eat a cup of Bran Buds with two of those Olipops at like 11:00 AM. [laughter] I was like, dude, you just ate 60 grams of fiber. You’re like, no, I didn’t. I’m like, yeah, I’m pretty sure you did.
0:46:34.4 Jordan Syatt: You did.
[laughter]
0:46:38.6 Mike Vacanti: Good episode. The Fitness Business Mentorship price is going up by $500 starting very soon. Like, next episode, we’re gonna say…
0:46:51.3 Jordan Syatt: This is your last chance. This is it.
0:46:52.6 Mike Vacanti: Yes, this is your last chance. So apply now if you’re interested. Have a great week. We’ll see you next week.
0:46:58.5 Jordan Syatt: See ya.
